Oliver Frost started his musical career together with his brother Tobias at the end of the 80s. He played the keyboards in the Reggae Band Growing Tree who became quite famous in Berlin. They were supporting acts like Makka B, Mickey Dead and Tippa Irie. On top of this they were the backing band for Asher D, Joseph Cotton, Dennis Alcapone and others.
In the mid 90s Oliver Frost got to know members of the band Culture Roots whose lead singer was Joy Denalane soon he became their keyboarder, too. After some reinvention the band Liquid developed with Vanessa Vassar as lead singer.
At the end of the 90s Oliver Frost left both bands and worked on his very own productions. In 2000 he teamed up with Adrain Wagner, drummer of Growing Tree. Together they became Frost & Wagner, remixing big names such as Jan Delay, Tosca, The Black Seeds and Joy Denalane.
Since 2010 Oliver Frost has been going his own way. He regularly publishes club-, dub and reggae remixes for the labels Echo Beach and Sonar Kollektiv. He can still count on his former band colleagues and friends who sometimes help with the remixes/ productions. Among those who show up in Frost’s studio are Carlo Selwat (guitar, Growing Tree), Marcel Sorge (guitar, Culture Roots/liquid), Fabian Astor (saxophone, Growing Tree), Ulrike Hauptmann (trombone, Growing Tree) and last but not least his brother Tobias Frost (guitar, Growing Tree). They all enhance Frost’s typical style and sound in which you can discover 25 years of Berlin Reggae scene.
